Donate your Aqiqah with Al Huda Way Organization

A virtuous act in Islam known as Aqiqah involves sacrificing livestock and distributing the meat among friends, relatives, and members of the community in need. It is a sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to perform Aqiqah when a child is born.

Imam al-Hasan and Imam al-Husain (peace be upon them), the beloved grandsons of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), were given an Aqiqah by him.

Aisha (RA) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:

“Slaughter two comparable sheep for a male newborn and one sheep for a female.” [Tirmidhi]

To support vulnerable families, Muslims are encouraged to donate the weight of a child’s shaven hair in silver. Aqiqah is typically performed on the seventh day after a baby’s birth but may be done later. The ceremony involves cooking and sharing the meat of the sacrificed animal with family, friends, and those in need within the community.

The Al Huda Way Organization has initiated an Aqiqah Project to enable people to donate Aqiqah meat directly to those who need it most. Its goal is to assist families in difficult circumstances who may not know where their next meal will come from and to provide them with relief and hope.

Meat is often costly in many countries, making it inaccessible to those who are struggling. As a result, the opportunity to prepare meat for their families is highly appreciated by many. The Al Huda Way Organization’s personnel distribute fresh meat packets to the most vulnerable members of the community, such as widowed women, children, older individuals, and those who have been displaced from their homes. Each family receives a packet containing approximately 5kg of meat.
